How do I set up custom DNS records?
Custom DNS records are required by some services such as Google Apps, and some other site Building applications.
Custom DNS records cannot be set up under any of our standard plans. To have them set up, you will require a "Custom DNS hosting" plan in addition to any hosting plans or domain names that you have with us. The cost of this is $29.95 per year.
To request custom DNS records, please send an email to support@domainhostingshop.com.au requesting the change, and approving the $29.95 yearly charge. This email will need to come from one of the administrator email addresses on your account, or will need to be submitted through the support ticket form after you have logged in to a client account. In your email, you will also need to provide details of what records you need set up.
You will then be billed, and after we have received your payment the DNS records will be set up within 3 hours on business days. If your request is on the weekend or outside of business hours, it will be done on the next business day.
When you have a Custom DNS plan, any changes to your DNS are free. If you want to make any changes to your custom DNS plan, please send an email to support@domainhostingshop.com.au with the details of what changes you need made.
Please note: If you phone us to request changes to your DNS records, we will still ask you to send your request in writing.
