Accessing your Email while travelling overseas

When travelling overseas, you may experience difficulties trying to access your email over Airport, Hotel or other public Internet access points.

The reason for this is that your email accounts are being protected from spammers and hackers who typically use these types of access points to attack our servers, and 99% of these attacks come from outside Australia. When you connect to the Internet from overseas and try to access your email account, it's likely that this will be flagged as an attack on your email account because someone else has used the same access point to try and attack our servers.

In order to gain access to your email overseas reliably, we recommend that you use your CPanel account to manage your email accounts and access your own email using the Web Mail interface. This will give you secure access to your email at all times.

Alternatively, you might like to consider using a VPN with an Australian end-point to access your email normally.

No matter what method you use, we recommend testing out these methods before you leave you leave for your overseas trip, as gaining access or resolving problems may be difficult once you have left Australia.
